William D. Sawicki is a Director in the Firm’s New Haven‚ Connecticut office. He has more than 25 years of accounting and auditing experience working with government agencies‚ nonprofit entities and employee benefit plan providers. He is also has a particular expertise in conducting audits for GAO Yellow Book and compliance (A-133).
Mr. Sawicki has an extensive background working with the State of Connecticut on compliance factors related to special projects and funding sources. He has performed audit and other attest services for several state agencies including the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority‚ Connecticut Transit and the Connecticut Special Transportation Fund. He has been responsible for‚ and participated in‚ approximately 20 municipal audits within the State of Connecticut. In addition‚ Mr. Sawicki has led internal audit engagement involving bidding processes‚ overhead and cost allocations‚ construction change orders‚ retainage‚ budgets and facilities operations. Finally‚ he oversees audits for numerous nonprofit organizations located throughout Connecticut.
Mr. Sawicki shares his expertise internally to other Firm professionals. He developed training materials for governmental auditing and single audits and is a frequent speaker at in-house seminars on topics related to government auditing standards‚ nonprofit and governmental auditing‚ and the audits of employee benefit plans.
